San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan's security detail got involved in a physical altercation while he was downtown for a restaurant opening. The altercation broke out while Mahan was getting interviewed by local news station KRON 4. Following the succession of the throne in January, the Danish royal household has released the first official gala portraits (pictured) of Frederik, 55, and Mary, 52, which will hang on the walls of staterooms. An Oklahoma father facing 12 years in prison after bullets were found in his luggage has spoken of his anguish at being trapped in legal limbo on Turks and Caicos, saying it has been 'the most awful thing I have ever lived through.'  In an interview with the Today Show, Ryan Watson, 40, said that his family are in the dark about his fate, and 'we can't set any kind of expectations on when I can be home to those kids.'  'To not be with my kids, to not be home with Valerie right now, it's the most awful thing that I have ever lived through at this point,' he said.

Katie Abdou, 37, had always imagined cradling her newborn baby in her arms and dreamt of the day she would set up a nursery and plan her baby shower. The Massachusetts-based food broker spent three agonizing years exhausting all possible options out there to bring a child into her life - trying everything from adoption, fostering, intracervical insemination (ICI), and in vitro fertilization (IVF). However, after every option failed and she devastatingly lost her baby while 17 weeks pregnant, Katie had to come to terms with the fact that her life had been 'ruined' by her numerous attempts to have a child.

Horrifying pictures show the brutal punishments of up to 20 lashes being meted out by members of the Sharia police, known as the Wilayatul Hisbah. Footage shows the pandas running the zookeeper as she appears with snacks, with one of them nibbling her ankles before another knocks her to the ground. Both animals climb over the terrified zookeeper and quickly bury her underneath them as they paw at her head and appear to nibble at her neck, arms and legs. The helpless worker rolls from side to side, hoping to get the massive pandas off, but only one of them runs away, while the other holds onto her and gnaws at her midriff in front of hundreds screaming visitors. When she finally manages to get up, the zookeeper has a rip in her shirt as well as scratch marks on her shoulder.
