Kolkata Sanved, an NGO that uses Dance Movement Therapy (DMT) as an “alternative approach to counselling, psychological rehabilitation, self-expression and empowerment” celebrates 20 years of its launch this weekend. A women-led organisation that works with survivors of sex trafficking and other forms of gender-based violence is organising two programmes on April 27 and 28 to mark two decades of service to society.
On Saturday, Sanved is hosting ‘Anandadhara’ at ICCR from 10.30am onwards. The lineup includes an inaugural song by Srikanta Acharya, a film by Debalina Majumder, an informal music adda, a “coming-together workshop” as well as a series of performances by Sanved. On Sunday, the focus shifts to a couple of performances at the G.D. Birla Sabhaghar starting at 6pm — ‘Yatra’ by Sanved, choreographed by Urmimala Sarkar Munsi and Vikram Iyengar, and ‘Tanashah’, a solo performance by Navtej Johar.
