This has sent it right up on the want list for me, before, it was somewhere between "Really?" and "Please don't be shit".
Not much story in the trailer, but the film is basically supposed to be one big chase scene. And it looks great, like a proper Mad Max film, not a CGI fest. People are really doing the stunts, cars and trucks are really getting trashed.
The Road Warrior is one of my favorite movies of all time. I generally hate reboots and remakes with the fiery intensity of a thousand suns, but for some reason, probably because it's George Miller, I'm looking forward to this one.
I think it morphed into a reboot of sorts. I don't know that it's really all that important how it gets classified. All of the stories more or less work on their own. There isn't much continuity to worry about.
I heard that it is supposed to be the same Mad Max, but it's not really important where it falls in the time line. It's just another story about Max.
Looks like fun though, true to the original spirit. Don't mind the new guy, aside from Mel's current persona non gratis, I'd be surprised if a Mel Gibson-aged Max would still be alive in that universe.
I did read that this was supposed to take place in the timeline right after the original, so... reboot? without the origin story? or part 4? Hmm.

Tangent: Is this how the english see german accents? Some Americans see british accents as pretentious; To us german is more sinister.
Yeah, German accent is 99% of the time a baddie. The southern-English accent (BBC newsreader up until the 21st Century for example) can be taken as pretentious. However, anyone that hears a Brummie, Scouser, Yorkshire or Lancashire and links it to pretentious really needs their ears cleaned.
You can use a capital E for English and a capital B for British Dakar.

True, but the more rough ones don't get used in American TV & Film as often. We think of Monty Python or James Bond.

Not bloody likely. Don't take it personal, because it wasn't.
Charlize Theron, even dirty, sweaty, and bald, she's hot.

Kickassness is what makes her so hot, I love strong, fierce women.

I saw it. Was pretty underwhelmed to be honest. May also be the last time I see a movie in a theater. We arrived 10 minutes late and still sat through 30 minutes of previews.
I like my water with hops, malt, hops, yeast, and hops.
I saw it last night and really, really liked it. I was thoroughly entertained throughout. I don't think there were any holes in the story/plot (not saying it was particularly special) but those can knock a movie down a few notches for me.
